Eliezer Ben-Yehuda Figurine

This 3D action figure is a miniature replica of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda (1858-1922) - Hebrew writer, journalist and revival of the Hebrew language. Born in Lithuania as Eliezer Yitzhak Perlman. At age 17, he became acquainted with the idea ofthe Jewish resurrection in Israel, changed his name to Ben-Yehuda and decided to devote himself to this end. Immigrated to Israel in 1881. In the years that followed he founded the “Zvi” newspaper and the “Hebrew Language Committee”, which later became the “Academy of the Hebrew Language”. His attempts to create a free Hebrew press have raised the wrath of the Turkish authorities, who have shut down his newspapers and even arrested him for a short time. The "Old and New Hebrew Language Dictionary” is considered his greatest life enterprise and included many of his language innovations. In 1922 Ben Yehuda died at his home while working on new vocabulary for his dictionary’s eighth volume.
